T minus half an hour...

Last night this was the scene...

It's 4 pm...I remember I have to leave at 5 to get somewhere...with fed children...
And the planned Swiss Chard and Cheddar Quiche is not going to happen.

I grab what I have...
Stew beef (drats! still semi frozen)
Green beans (from the garden!)
some basic items from the cupboard...

I feel like I'm on one of those crazy cooking shows.

No time for stew or any other simmered item...
No problem...run it through the food processor...and you have hamburger.
Throw in some spices and give it another little wiz...
Seasoned hamburgers.
Preheat the oven and then mix up some biscuits...Yogurt makes them extra tender and fluffy.
While the biscuits cook, form the hamburgers.
Take out the biscuits and turn it up to broil...throw in the burgers.
While the burgers cook, snap off the green beans and throw them in the pot.

No need for drive thru...
No xyz helper needed...

And no perky tv personality making something completely over the top as well as orchestrated and rehearsed to the point where no human could actually make the dishes in the allotted time without practice and a ton of experience...

Just real simple food in half and hour.

Because I like having half an hour after making dinner to eat and get out the door.
